Mirela Popovic is a certified advanced practice registered nurse with extensive experience and expertise in gastroenterology. Mirela was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia, and grew up in Las Vegas.
Mirela received Bachelor of Science in Nursing at UNLV and later became a registered nurse. She started off her nursing career working at the busy Emergency Department of Desert Springs Hospital. She then went on and obtained her advanced practice registered nurse degree from the University of Cincinnati with a focus on women’s health. She then furthered her training by obtaining Post-Mastered Certificate in Family Practice from the University of Massachusetts. She then continued to work in the emergency room setting before realizing that gastroenterology was her passion. She has since worked exclusively in the field of gastroenterology with special interest in acute gastroenterology care, abdominal pain, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), constipation, diarrhea, swallowing disorders, and colorectal cancer screening.
Due to her strong training background and exposure to patients in various socioeconomic and culture backgrounds, Mirela has exceptional ability in treating patients with various ethnic backgrounds.
Mirela is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association and Nevada Advance Practicing Association.
